Richmond's 3rd Street Diner, located at 218 E. Main St., was a renowned, 24-hour institution known for its retro, gritty, and, in its later years, controversial atmosphere. Operating for decades as a popular late-night, post-bar spot for VCU students and locals, it was characterized by comfort food, 1930s-40s style, and a "Wild West" reputation. It closed around 2021.
