A lot of men treat their birthday like it’s “just another day.”
On the surface it sounds mature and low-maintenance.
But underneath, there’s usually a story the nervous system is still carrying.
If you grew up with birthdays that were forgotten, chaotic, or full of criticism,
your body quietly learns:
“Don’t expect too much. Don’t make it about you. Attention isn’t safe.”
Fast-forward to adulthood and you over-give on everyone else’s day…
but when it’s your turn, you play it off:
“Nah, I’m good. I don’t need all that.”
This video is for the men who feel that tension:
you say you don’t care,
but a part of you wonders what it would be like
to feel genuinely seen and celebrated without having to perform for it.
Here’s your invitation this year:
• Be honest with yourself about why you downplay your own day.
• Let one person show up for you on purpose, even in a small way.
• Notice what happens in your body when it’s your turn to receive.
Nothing about that makes you weak.
It just exposes where you’ve been surviving instead of actually being in your life.
If you’re ready to unpack this and learn how to feel safe being seen, celebrated, and heard as a man,
