Today's build is the most ambitious episode in the 52 Apps in 52 Weeks challenge — and the entire premise is that we start with zero capital, zero inventory, and zero hardware. The goal: build a reservation-driven website that collects enough paid deposits to fund the actual purchase of a humanoid robot, then rent that robot to brands for trade shows, corporate activations, product launches, and experiential marketing events.

This is bootstrap entrepreneurship running on vibe code, and we're doing the whole thing live.

The stack is what we always use: Lovable for the frontend (if you haven't tried it yet, grab 10 free credits with my referral link at lovable.dev/invite/S8XSI99), Supabase for the backend and database, Stripe for capturing deposits, and Resend for transactional email. The entire build happens in one session — reservation landing page, admin dashboard, confirmation flows, and a public-facing pitch that sells the concept before the hardware even exists.

But the website is only half of what we're doing today. The other half is the full business model, built out live inside Claude. We're using Claude to model every variable: what's the right deposit amount, how many reservations trigger the hardware purchase, what does the daily rental rate need to be to hit break-even within the first 90 days of operation, what does a realistic 12-month revenue curve look like, and where does the growth plateau once the robot has a booking ceiling. We're calling this the Fable 5 framework — five financial scenarios that give you full visibility into the upside and the risk before you spend a dollar.

Humanoid robots are having a moment. Unitree, Figure, Agility Robotics, Boston Dynamics — the hardware is real, the price points are dropping, and brands are actively looking for experiential technology that stops people in their tracks. A humanoid robot walking a trade show floor, greeting attendees, handing out swag, or performing scripted brand interactions is the kind of activation that gets photographed, posted, and talked about. The rental market for this category doesn't really exist yet at scale — which is exactly why we're building the infrastructure for it now.

The site we're building today lives under the OnScreenGames brand at onscreengames.com, which already powers custom screen-based games for venues, trade shows, and brand engagements. The robot rental offering slots in naturally — same audience, same buyers, same events. We're not starting from scratch on the customer relationship; we're expanding the product line.

Here's exactly what gets built and decided in today's session: the full reservation landing page built live in Lovable, the deposit and confirmation flow wired to Stripe and Supabase, the business case document that defines pricing tiers and event day rates, the threshold model that tells us when we buy the robot, a 12-month revenue projection with optimistic and conservative scenarios, and the operational playbook for what happens once the hardware arrives — logistics, operator training, insurance, and route-to-market.

If you've ever wanted to watch a real business get structured, modeled, and launched in a single sitting with no funding, no co-founder, and no inventory, this is the one to watch. We're proving that the concept can pay for itself before it ever exists — and we're doing it in public.

Watch live every Saturday at 1 PM EST and every Sunday at 10 AM EST at studio.willmelton.com. The stream runs through the full build with no cuts, no edits, and no safety net.
