On Saturday, October 24 at 1 PM ET I'm building a Halloween game for Channel RVA live on camera, and I'm inviting you to help design it. The Channel RVA team wants a Halloween game on channelrva.com. The working title is Richmond Undead, a zombie hunt built around the spookier side of Richmond, Virginia. The game also promotes the Channel RVA citywide scavenger hunt on November 7, From the River to the Rooftops. Halloween is one week away, so the clock is short and your ideas land fast.
WHAT YOU CAN HELP DESIGN
I want this game to be more than rounds of trivia. Drop ideas in the live chat while I build, and I will pick them up and put them on screen in real time. Here is what I'm looking for:
- What the player does in the first ten seconds
- How the zombie hunt works and what makes it tense
- Richmond ghost stories, haunted places, and local legends worth featuring
- Scoring, streaks, and what a winning run feels like
- The look of the game: colors, sounds, fonts, and mood
- What makes a player share their score with friends
- How the game points players to the November 7 scavenger hunt
WHAT WE WORK ON IN THIS SESSION
We start by agreeing on the player experience from the first screen to the final score. Then we choose the Richmond stories and places that anchor the game, design the zombie hunt mechanic, and build the first playable version in Lovable. I show the prompts I write, the bugs I hit, and how I fix them. You see the whole process from idea to something you can click.
WHY A GAME FOR A LOCAL MEDIA PLATFORM
A game gives a media platform something people play, share, and come back to. For Channel RVA, a Halloween game puts Richmond history and local stories in front of new audiences and gives them a reason to join the November 7 scavenger hunt. I'm building it in public so you can see the decisions as they happen.
WHO THIS STREAM IS FOR
Richmond locals who want a say in what Channel RVA publishes. Marketers and media people who want to see how a local brand uses a game to promote an event. Game designers and hobby builders who want to watch AI app building from a blank screen. Anyone curious how to build an app with AI live, with no coding experience required to join the chat.
THE TOOLS
I build in Lovable, an AI app builder that turns written prompts into working apps. If you want to try it yourself, use my invite link https://lovable.dev/invite/S8XSI99 and get 10 free credits.
