AI visibility management has a dozen moving parts and nobody explains it clearly. Today I am building an interactive story that shows every step.

Most brands have no idea what it actually takes to appear in an AI-generated answer. It is not just SEO. It is not just content. It is a system with a dozen handoffs — entity clarity, parseable content, structured data, third-party mentions and PR, crawl access, review signals, measurement, and iteration — and a real person responsible for each one. Miss any station and a competitor's name slides into the slot yours should occupy.

That is the story I keep trying to tell in client conversations and keynotes. And the problem is that words force a sequence. You list the steps and people lose the thread before you finish. Diagrams help but they sit on a slide and stay still. So today I am building something that moves.

The concept: follow a single buyer query end to end. The query is real: who should I hire to help my company adopt AI. We trace that question from the moment it is typed to the moment a brand gets named in the AI-generated answer. Every station the query passes through corresponds to a real AI visibility responsibility, and there is a person at each station. The visitor can see the whole machine at once on a blown-out SVG map, then zoom in to follow each step in a scroll-linked camera move.

The mechanic that makes this worth building: at each station you can toggle that responsibility off and watch the final AI answer change in real time. Kill third-party mentions and a competitor's name replaces yours. Kill structured data and the citation disappears. Kill measurement and the answer stays the same but a note appears: you would never know it was working or broken. That is the counterfactual argument that no slide deck can make. It is experiential, not expository.

The whole experience ends with the visitor seeing the AI-generated answer assembled on screen phrase by phrase, each phrase hoverable to reveal which station earned it. That ties every abstract responsibility to a concrete, measurable output.

Building this live with Lovable for the frontend scaffolding, Framer Motion for scroll-linked animations and the camera moves, and the Claude API to simulate real-time answer assembly. The full system is one session. If you want to start building your own apps and tools with AI, Lovable gives you 10 free credits to get started: https://lovable.dev/invite/S8XSI99

This is part of my 52 Apps in 52 Weeks challenge. Every week I build a real, working application live on stream, start to finish, no post-production. I go live every Saturday at 1 PM EST and Sunday at 10 AM EST at studio.willmelton.com. Bring your questions, watch the bugs happen in real time, and follow along as the thing gets built from nothing.

If your brand is not showing up in AI-generated answers, this stream will show you exactly what the machine looks like, who needs to be at each station, and what breaks when they are not.
