Yesterday we kicked off something I've been wanting to build for a long time — a live, physics-based visualization of my entire business ecosystem. Today we go deeper.

The Nexus Map is a d3-force + d3-zoom interactive app that plots every project, venture, idea, and relationship across my portfolio in one living interface. We're talking 84 projects across 28 organizations, 17 mapped relationships, org-based nesting, category color overlays, archived project states, and a drag-to-connect interaction layer — all backed by a real SQLite portfolio database I built and imported during Day 1.

Day 1 got the physics shell running, the first 27-project subset live with full org containers and the CARL suite mapped, and the database architecture locked. Day 2 is the expansion: pushing the remaining 57 staged projects through a SQL-insert path, refining the relationship web, tuning the physics behavior, and getting this to a state where it actually functions as a navigation and thinking tool — not just a pretty graph.

I'm building this with Lovable — the AI-powered full-stack builder that lets me ship real apps in hours instead of weeks. If you want to start building your own, grab 10 free credits through my referral link at https://lovable.dev/invite/S8XSI99. It's the fastest way to go from idea to deployed product without touching a dev environment.

This is part of my 52 Apps in 52 Weeks challenge — a public commitment to ship one working app per week, live on stream. No scripts, no edits, no safety net. Every Saturday at 1 PM EST and Sunday at 10 AM EST, I'm live at studio.willmelton.com building in real time.

The Nexus Map isn't a side project — it's a reflection of how I actually think about my work. At Xponent21 (xponent21.com), my AI and digital strategy agency, the core IP is the CARL Model: a continuously updated intelligence layer that tracks how large language models respond to, cite, and rank content across the web. Every project in this map is either generating input for that system or being shaped by its outputs. Visualizing those relationships in a live force graph isn't just satisfying — it's strategically necessary.

The map includes every active venture: Channel RVA (channelrva.com), my AI-powered hyperlocal media platform for Richmond, VA; OnScreenGames (onscreengames.com), our custom screen-based game platform for trade shows, venues, and live events; Xponent21 Grow; the Liberating Facilitator; CARL Optimizer; Saucery; PolicyPlay; and a dozen more. If you've ever wondered how I keep track of all of it — today's the day you find out.

Tune in live at 10 AM EST at studio.willmelton.com.
